The brass tube, bent in a U-shape, is installed in the inner jacket. The fuel and the air drawn in from outside are mixed in the mixing tube. The fuel-air mixture finally reaches the burner via the mixing chamber connected to it.
Since the mixing tube expands and contracts again as it heats up and cools down, the mixing tube distance to the carburetor nozzle must be readjusted every now and then to ensure an optimum mixture.
